A random story by me.
She sat. Waiting. Really not knowing what she was waiting for. The breeze came through and she tugged her pea coat more tightly around her as she shifted on the hard wooden bench not wanting her muscles to fall asleep. For some reason she needed to stay alert and think. His words tumbled in her mind, over and over like a dryer with just one pair of wet socks. Out across the field past the trees, the taxi's honked their horns and she watched as couples walked along the paved path ways thinking about her next step. Carefully she unscrewed the lid of her diet coke, took a quick swallow and savored the bubbly feeling it had in her nose and mouth. Inhaled exhaled and closed her eyes. The money had been in a tight bundle as he had handed it to her, "Take it and go." He smiled dimly then had left closing the door with a quick click. It had only taken her a half an hour to pack one suit case, one back pack and gather her little terrier Bengi. The plane tickets were to Paris France where she could take a train to Bordeaux where her sister lived. She could do anything with the amount of money he had given her, it was the link to a new life out side of this busy city and she could start over. This was her chance.
